About the event
Join us for the third Vietnam Era Veteran Welcome Home and Pinning Ceremony in Grand Junction on September 4th. This special event honors the service and sacrifices of our Vietnam Era Veterans, many of whom did not receive the recognition they deserved upon returning home. The Vietnam War Commemoration is a national initiative dedicated to honoring and thanking our Vietnam veterans and their families for their service and sacrifice on behalf of the Nation.
The Vietnam War era, spanning from November 1, 1955, to May 15, 1975, was a tumultuous time in American history. Veterans who served during this period often faced significant challenges upon returning home, including a lack of public support, difficult reintegration into civilian life, and the lasting impacts of their service. The Vietnam War Commemoration aims to correct these historical oversights, ensuring that our Vietnam Era Veterans are finally given the honor and respect they deserve.
