About the event

For many Vietnam veterans, the return home was not what it should have been. Unlike generations before and after, they came back not to parades or celebrations, but to silence—or worse. Their service was often overlooked, their sacrifices unrecognized. Decades later, the time has come to change that.

On March 27th at 5:30 PM, the Grand Junction community will come together at the Grand Junction Moose Lodge to do what should have been done long ago—to say, Welcome Home. The Grand Junction Area Vietnam Era Welcome Home & Pinning Ceremony is part of a national effort to ensure that every veteran of this era is properly honored and recognized. It is a moment of reflection, gratitude, and respect for those who served during one of the most difficult times in our nation’s history.

For those who have attended past pinning ceremonies in Grand Junction, the significance of these gatherings is clear.…
