About the event
Join us for a heartfelt event where we, as fellow veterans, come together to honor the brave souls who served in the Korean War, often referred to as the "Forgotten War." Despite the significant impact and sacrifices made during this conflict, the Korean War has not received the recognition it deserves. This event aims to shed light on the valor and dedication of those who served in Korea from June 25, 1950, to July 27, 1953.
The Korean War, which erupted shortly after World War II, has been overshadowed by both its predecessor and the Vietnam War that followed. Often overlooked in historical discourse, the Korean War saw immense bravery and strategic importance in the fight against the spread of communism. The conflict concluded with an armistice rather than a peace treaty, leaving the Korean Peninsula technically still at war. This ambiguous conclusion, along with the lack of widespread public attention and media coverage, contributed to its designation as the "Forgotten War."
During this special event, we will recognize the immense sacrifices and contributions of our Korean War veterans. These brave individuals fought under harsh conditions and played a crucial role in preserving freedom and democracy in South Korea. As part of our commitment to honoring these heroes, we will be assisting veterans and their families in applying for the Ambassador for Peace Medal. This prestigious award, bestowed by the South Korean government, is a symbol of gratitude for those who served in Korea during the war and in subsequent peacekeeping missions. Veterans can also be honored posthumously, ensuring that their legacy endures.
Come together with us to celebrate the bravery and sacrifice of our Korean War veterans. Let’s ensure that their legacy is remembered and that they receive the recognition they deserve. This event is not just a tribute but an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of our honored veterans and their families. Mark your calendars and join us in showing our unwavering gratitude and respect for the heroes of the Forgotten War.
